Builder barriers and their limits
A builder installed system still needs the specified inspections, access, and maintenance.
Paths, garden beds, decks, soil, and later building work can cover inspection zones or affect a system. Keep the installation documents and seek advice before changing these areas.
Documents to find
Collect the durable notice, system details, installation certificate, and inspection history.
- Durable notice, often located in the meter box
- Installer and product details
- Inspection, servicing, and warranty conditions
- Site plan showing the installed protection
- Treatment and inspection records
Inspection timing for homes 1 to 8 years old
A newer home still needs regular inspections with no more than 12 months between visits.
Monitoring services must not exceed 3 month intervals; follow any shorter product or management schedule. A builder warranty does not replace termite inspections.
Growth area homes
For Marsden Park, Tallawong, Melonba, and Grantham Farm, include recent landscaping and changes since handover in your enquiry.
Share the construction date, system records, and access around the completed dwelling so Guardian can assess what has changed.
