Cookies and online identifiers
Cookie notice
This notice explains cookies and related technologies that may operate when you use this website. It was last updated on 8 August 2026.
What these technologies are
Cookies are small data files a website or service may store in a browser. Similar technologies include local storage, pixels, tags, and identifiers contained in requests. They can help a site operate, remember settings, protect against misuse, and understand how a service is used.
Some technologies are controlled by Guardian's website providers. Others may be set or read by a third party when its content is displayed.
Current website use
The website and its hosting or security providers may use technologies that are reasonably necessary to deliver pages, route requests, prevent misuse, maintain security, and provide the quote form. These technologies support functions you request and may not be optional if you want to use those functions.
Guardian uses Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors find and use the website and to improve content and performance. Google Analytics may set or read cookies and receive information such as a browser or device identifier, approximate location, referral source, pages viewed, interactions, and visit timing. Guardian reviews aggregated reports and does not use Google Analytics to display advertising on this website.
The website stores the current session attribution and separate first and latest campaign touchpoints in browser storage. This may include campaign parameters, advertising click identifiers, the landing page, referring page, and timestamps. First and latest touchpoints expire after 90 days. This lets attribution remain available as you move between pages and when you send a quote request.
Google Analytics controls
Google controls its own processing of Analytics information under its privacy terms. You can limit Analytics cookies through your browser settings. Google also provides a browser add on that is designed to prevent Google Analytics from using information about website visits.
Blocking Analytics does not prevent you from reading the website or contacting Guardian, although aggregated usage reporting may be less accurate.
Google Maps and third party content
The contact page and local service area pages embed Google Maps. Loading or interacting with a map may allow Google to receive technical information and use cookies or related technologies under Google's own terms and privacy practices. Guardian does not control Google's technologies.
Your browser or network settings may let you block third party content. If the map is blocked, you can still contact Guardian by phone, email, or the quote form.
Quote form processing
The quote form uses website services to deliver your enquiry and notify our team. When available, stored campaign attribution is included with the enquiry so Guardian can understand which source contributed to the request. This processing is described in the privacy policy, and the form does not require advertising cookies.
Selecting a phone link records a Google Analytics event showing the page and general button location. The website cannot determine whether the call connected or how long it lasted.
Browser controls
Most browsers let you view, block, or delete cookies and site data. Blocking all cookies or scripts may prevent security, forms, embedded maps, or other website features from working correctly. Refer to your browser settings for the controls available to you.
Changes and questions
This notice may be updated when website technology or legal requirements change. The current version will be published on this page with its updated date.
Questions about cookies, online identifiers, or privacy can be sent to info@guardianbpi.com.au.
